Guest artist, Cheryl Dorris, will exhibit photographs as a Gateway
Gallery guest artist April 3, 2013 through May 17, 2013. Photography has been Cheryl’s passion her
whole life. Through the years her work
began to take shape via the landscape — open air, changing light and
breathtaking beauty. She is inspired by
the warm light from a sunset, shimmering reflections on water and the crisp
hues found in cities abroad. In these
places she feels both calm and energized, and is drawn to photograph them. She loves to travel around the country and
around the world and work with the images she captures. Her work has been published in magazines and
books and has been shown in various galleries around the St Louis area. She has received recognition in numerous
juried competitions, including Best in Show, Old Orchard Gallery, St Louis; and
a finalist in the SEEN Competition, Studio Altius, St Louis.
